Dr. Stinson joined the AVMA Trust Team in July 2019 as a Veterinary Student Representative. After receiving her DVM from the University of Georgia, Dr. Stinson spent the majority of her career in private equine practice on the East Coast. She has also worked as a relief veterinarian in companion animal practice, and was a founding partner of Carolina Equine Hospital in 2009 and enjoyed practice life with a great team. Dr. Stinson served as Vice President of the AVMA for two years and during her term, she spent a considerable amount of time working with students and helping them develop their personal versions of success. Following several years as the Associate Director for Student Support at Virginia-Maryland College of Veterinary Medicine, Dr. Stinson has now joined AVMA Trust and enjoys helping students find their path to professional fulfillment wherever their veterinary degree may lead.
Dr. Stinson shares her daily life with her husband of twenty-eight years, two cats, and one horse. She also has a son, daughter-in-law and three of the most wonderful grandchildren EVER! Dr. Stinson is looking forward to finding a place to call home on Smith Mountain Lake. She loves to be near the water and feels energized by seeing the water every day.
