Is Your Practice Prepared for OSHA's December 1 Deadline?
In March of 2012, OSHA announced the modification of its Hazard Communications Standard (HCS) to reduce misunderstandings in the workplace and increase hazard comprehension. The first deadline is December 1, 2013, which requires practices to train employees on the new label elements and safety data sheet format. For more information, review the Spring 2012 issue of the PLIT's Safety Bulletin publication and visit OSHA's website. The PLIT Online Employee Training Module for Hazard Communication has been updated with the OSHA Standard Changes. To access this resource, log in to the AVMA PLIT website and click on the web-based training tool at www.avmaplit.com/safety.
