AVMA PLIT adds Dr. Cynthia G. MacKenzie to Trust Staff
(CHICAGO, Illinois) Nov. 10, 2017 – The AVMA PLIT welcomes Cynthia G. MacKenzie, DVM as a new Trust Veterinarian, reporting to AVMA PLIT Chief Executive Officer, Andrew R. Clark, DVM, MBA. Dr. MacKenzie will represent the PLIT around the country, raising the awareness of PLIT insurance and risk management solutions to veterinarians and veterinary students.
“The PLIT is proud to expand its resources with Dr. MacKenzie’s expertise in the veterinary profession,” said Dr. Clark. “Dr. MacKenzie will be a great addition to the Trust and most importantly, an excellent advocate for PLIT insureds. Her recent industry experience gives her a unique perspective for planning and administering educational and support programs related to our professional liability, business, and personal insurance offerings. We are excited for her to represent the PLIT at veterinary conventions and educational events in 2018 and beyond.”
Prior to joining the AVMA PLIT, Dr. MacKenzie was an Equine Technical Services Veterinarian at Luitpold Animal Health, providing continuing education, technical literature and consultation to veterinarians and their clients. Previously, she was with Merck Animal Health as a Senior Equine Technical Services Veterinarian and an Associate Director of Learning and Development. Additionally, Dr. MacKenzie co-founded the Unwanted Horse Veterinary Relief campaign to provide vaccines to qualifying equine rescues. Dr. MacKenzie also worked in private practice in California and Kentucky.
She received her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine and Bachelor of Science from Texas A&M University. Dr. MacKenzie holds active memberships with the American Veterinary Medical Association, American Association of Equine Practitioners, and Indiana Veterinary Medical Association.
