AVMA PLIT Launches Action Center: An Online Claim Resource for Veterinarians
CHICAGO – September 16, 2016 – The PLIT launched a new addition to their online portal, called the “Action Center,” for AVMA members to access content and tools detailing what to do if they have a potential or actual malpractice claim or license complaint. The Action Center was created as a resource to educate veterinarians on the handling of claims. This will also transform the veterinarians’ understanding of the claims process.
“Our new Action Center is an easy and convenient way for veterinarians to learn about the claims process. A malpractice allegation or a board complaint can be very stressful, and we wanted our insureds to know that they are not alone. The PLIT is here for you when you have a potential or actual claim,” said Dr. Andrew Clark, Interim Chief Executive Officer, AVMA PLIT. “The PLIT has supported veterinarians for 54 years, and we’re excited to provide this new key AVMA member benefit to help veterinarians take control by taking action. The PLIT is committed to protecting veterinarians through it all.”
The Action Center includes instructional videos and a robust, step-by-step explanation for veterinarians working through a potential or actual allegation of malpractice or a veterinary license defense complaint. Additional tips for communicating with clients, wellness information, testimonials, and frequently asked questions are also available. The new site can be accessed via the PLIT homepage or at avmaplit.com/actioncenter.
The PLIT encourages AVMA members to use the Action Center and stay informed in the event of a malpractice claim or license defense complaint. The Action Center helps veterinarians to take control by taking action.
The AVMA PLIT is protecting veterinarians and future veterinarians through it all.
