PLIT Reaches Out to Members impacted by the Oklahoma Tornados
|
| Our thoughts are with those who have been impacted by the Oklahoma tornados. The PLIT stands ready to support our insureds and their loved ones who have been affected by this devastating weather. The PLIT has implemented special procedures for insureds who were impacted by the Oklahoma tornados. The PLIT has contacted individual business insurance and professional liability policyholders in Moore, Oklahoma, and our carriers have claim professionals standing by to assist members around the clock. A list of carriers (property/liability, workers’ compensation, and animal bailee), their toll-free claims numbers and website links, as well as links to risk management tools for severe weather and catastrophes, can be found on the PLIT claim reporting page. Know that the PLIT is here to support you during disasters—we truly are veterinarians serving veterinarians. |

| GHLIT medical insurance changes unrelated to PLIT-sponsored Program |
| Please note that while both the GHLIT and PLIT are AVMA member services, each Trust is a separate business entity and operates independently. The recent medical insurance announcements do not affect coverage secured through the PLIT-sponsored Program such as professional liability and business insurance. For more information about the changes to your medical insurance, please contact the GHLIT at 800-621-6360 or visit www.avmaghlit.org. |

And, the group program can replace or supplement existing personal excess (umbrella) liability policies at a reduced rate. Liability limits are available for $1, 2, 3, 5, and 10 million. Annual premiums start at $308 (with the group discount rate). Click here for more information.*This product is not available in Arizona, Indiana, Kansas, Maine, and Vermont.

|
In recent years, social networking websites like Facebook, MySpace, LinkedIn, and Twitter have exploded in popularity. Many individuals using social networking websites are employees—possibly your employees. You could be held liable for content related to your veterinary practice that is posted by your employees to their personal social networking page. As an employer, it is important for you to stay current on your evolving risks that exist in the virtual world.
A full recording of the webinar presented by CNA and the AVMA PLIT on Thursday, December 8, 2011 is available on the EPL Resources page.
